Masecraft Supply company has been in business since 1980. We celebrated our 25th anniversary in January 2005. We began as a "sister" company to Crown Plastics, an injection molding company in Meriden, CT which was, at the time, the leading supplier of injection molded knife handles to the cutlery industry in the USA. Because of our close association with cutlery manufacturers, we recognized their need for a reliable source for other kinds of knife handle materials. We decided to create a second company to meet those needs, not only for manufacturers but also for the growing ranks of professional custom knife makers and hobbyists. From the beginning we have been an international trading company dealing in natural products such as antler, pearl, horn, bone and exotic woods. Later we added the rigid composite laminates Micarta, G-10 and Carbon Fiber as well as Polyester, Acrylic, Celluloid and Casein decorative synthetic materials. Both companies operated out of the same building until January of 1989 when Crown Plastics was sold and I became the sole owner of Masecraft and moved it, first to Research Parkway and again in 1998 to our own building on Amity Street in Meriden, CT, our current location. Since that time we have greatly expanded our product line and manufacturing capabilities. In May of 2002 we purchased one of our long-time suppliers of decorative synthetic materials - GPS Agencies Ltd. in Chichester, West Sussex, England and they became a subsidiary of Masecraft Supply Co. "Ivory Alternative" grained polyester sheet, rod and bar, considered by many to be the best ivory substitute on the market today, was developed for GPS about 15 years ago and is now manufactured exclusively for GPS Agencies LTD. and Masecraft Supply. With thanks to our customers, suppliers and the many people who have helped us get to where we are today, we welcome you to our web site.
