Introducing M3 Metal Composite Knife Scales and Pistol Grips- Matched Sets
All M3 Mokume, Damascus and Pattern Metals are now available as "Matched Sets" in "Face", "Side" and "Swirly" (burl) grain patterns. These magnificent "Matched Sets" are perfect for knife handles, gun grips, musical instrument inlays, pool cue inlays and many other creative applications. M3 is the only metal that can be cut by a CO2 Laser making inlays, custom branding and lettering in metal both practical and affordable.
Matching (sometimes referred to as book-matching) allows a level of consistency to large editions produced with M3. All M3 patterns are random, but the various grain patterns will all share similarities even over a large number of parts.

- Face Grain: This is a true wood grain consisting of concentric circles and swirls creating a modern interpretation of “Mokume Gane” and the finer darker grain patterns of “Damascus Steel”.
- Side Grain: Cut from the side of a wood grained block the side grain is more linear in appearance.
- Swirly Grain: A much tighter swirly pattern, perhaps “burl like” in appearance with a nice random but repeating pattern.
 M3 Black Gold
Black Carbonite, the compound that gives carbon fiber it’s unbelievable strength, is brightly contrasted with a custom gold metal alloy which we refer to as “Galactic Gold”. This high contrast material finishes to a spectacular gem finish and exhibits the M3 deep dimensional star-field surface.  M3 Black & White Mokume
Similar in appearance to Black Gold only the contrast metal is our custom silver metal alloy which we refer to as “Galactic Silver”. This white/silver metal exhibits some of M3’s remarkable color changing properties and will look like a very bright silver in direct light and opaque white in indirect light. M3 Cobaltium Mokume
Cobaltium is the first true blue metal alloy. This fascinating new alloy appears silver in direct light and blue when viewed with indirect light. Cobaltium takes on a bright high shine finish and mesmerizes with its color changing properties. We have combined it with our Black Carbonite to create a magnificent high contrast Mokume grain.  M3 Classic Mokume Gane
The purest copper and the brightest Galactic Silver have been combined to create our version of this ancient Japanese metal art. The copper will patina over time adding to the contrast and the unique look of the material. Copper of this purity is antimicrobial so objects made from this material are perfect for medical, food or laboratory environments. “Mokume Gane” which literally translates to “wood grained metal” has been fascinating collectors for centuries.  - M3 Lapis Mokume
Blue Bronze, another M3ci original alloy has been combined with a fine Galactic Gold (custom gold metal alloy) creating an elegant metal composite which closely resembles the semi-precious stone for which it has been named.

Similar to Lapis Mokume only the contrast metal is a fine Galactic Silver (custom white/silver metal alloy). This white/silver metal exhibits some of M3’s remarkable color changing properties and will look like a very bright silver in direct light and opaque white in indirect light.
