Alternative Ivory Sheets 3/16

Judt finished cutting cabs with scrollsaw and had excellent results. No burning or chipping with #3 SR blade and taped surfaces. Sanded and prepped surfaces as would do bone and am pleased with product

Surprisingly nice alternative material. The surface is easily workable for scrimshaw, retains color inks (I used Higgins Black Magic & Faber-Castell Pitt). Easy to wipe off excess ink. I sealed with Renaissance Wax prior to inking, and final polish/sealed. Good color similar to ivory. Saws and files easily.

I've used this material a couple of times. Its easy to work with and has some of the visual characteristics of real ivory. Its a nice product and well worth the money.
